Review - Elemis Fresh Skin Softly Softly

Review - Elemis Fresh Skin Softly Softly

Hello!
I'm sure many of you will be aware of the current free gifts being given with this months range of monthly magazines. Cosmo are currently giving away free samples from the Elemis Fresh Skin range, which is designed for young skin (Teens and twenties). They include a 25ml sample of Skin Clear Mattifying Moisturiser, Softly Softly Moisturiser and Loving Lips Quenching Lipbalm (sorry, I'm not sure of the Lipbalm sample size!).

I was really excited about these free samples as I don't tend to spend more than £10 on skincare, but really want to try more highend skincare. Samples are a great way to try products like this, as I know not everyone wants to spend £15+ on something they don't know whether they'll like (I know I don't!). Luckily the shop I went to have all three samples available. I choose the Softly Softly Moisturiser as I thought it was the one most suited to my skin type and the most beneficial sample for me and today I thought I'd review it for you.

The sample size of this product is 25ml which is worth £10. I know 25ml might not seem like a huge amount for £10 but what I've found and love about this product is that a little goes a long way. I pretty sure the sample will last me a good while, which is great! The full size product is 50ml and retails at £20, it comes in a lovely little pump dispenser which looks really lovely and easy to use. The packaging for both the sample and full sized product is really lovely. It's kept simple and effective, the pinks and purples make it look really girly and appealing to young women.

Now, down to the actual product! The first thing I noticed was the scent of the product, it's slightly odd and may not be appealing to all. I'm not very good at describing scents but would say that this smells slightly medicated and tea like. I actually wasn't too sure of the scent at first but after using it a few times I've got used to it and actually quite like it.

Elemis says 'This light and non-greasy daily moisturiser helps defend against free radicals. Rosehip seed oil and sweet almond oil soften and soothe, leaving skin revitalised and more radiant.'

I love the use of natural ingredients in this product and think they're really evident in the way that the product works. As I said previously, a little goes a long way. The product glides on to the skin effortlessly and soaks in right away, which is great! It's really good to use before applying makeup! It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or sticky, but instead smooth and fresh. All in all I really love this product. I suffer with dry skin and think that this really helps! I will most likely be repurchasing this product again. £20 for 50ml might seem a little steep to some but I think it'll last a good while and well worth the money.
